I was taken aback by the fact that the freshmen coming to the Revive Gathering on Mondays were all born about the time or just after I started working with CCO (Coalition for Christian Outreach). I started with CCO back in 2005, so these eighteen- and nineteen-year-olds were seeing their first light of day when I committed to reaching out to college students. How about that! I’m honored. And I’m old. Ha Ha.
I had a milestone birthday last month, and some students from the past texted me these lovely thoughts. I was moved by these unsolicited messages!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I hope you have a good day today. I’ve loved doing this podcast together and can honestly say I’ve grown because of it. I wouldn’t be where I’m at without my time in Revive and for your mentorship. In some ways, those formative years with you really changed my life and I’ll be forever grateful! I’m looking forward to many more years of friendship and podcasting together!

Happy birthday Bob! Having you as a campus minister and a mentor played a huge part in where I am today.
I’ve been reflecting on my time at KSU and Revive. Some days I felt so lost, confused, and disconnected from God. Somedays I didn’t even know who I was because I hadn’t fully discovered who God was and what His love was. Sometimes it saddens me thinking about the distorted view I had of Him. I had a lot of issues with anxiety, depression, and time management. I still have issues with time management lol.
I also had so many great memories. Multiple Jubilees, made long term friends, community, and connection to amazing people. Regardless of where I was on my journey with God I had a place where I felt like I belonged. Every step of the way I had you there encouraging me and teaching me the truth of the gospel. You taught me that it all starts with relationship and intentionally caring about others. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to thank you enough or repay you for the part you played in my life, but I hope you know how much of an impact you had in my life and how thankful I am for you. Those KSU/Revive days are carved in my heart forever. Thank you for everything Bob. I hope you enjoy your birthday!

I can only do this important work with young men and women (at what I believe is the most crucial time in their lives) through the contributions of my financial supporters.
If you are one of them, THANK YOU! (You know who you are, HaHa!). I believe that the Lord is pleased with your investment in the kingdom.
If you're not a regular supporter yet, but would like to give something, here is a link to do so!
Watch for my next newsletter, which will be about all the other things I do in my ministry, called “Reintegrate!”
