It has become vogue to deconstruct everything, especially Christianity, without any desire for the reconstruction of something that is closer to the real Jesus Christ and the way of life he offers us.
Honest doubt about what we’ve been taught is a good thing. In fact, healthy deconstruction can create great spiritual growth. But doubt can also lead someone to lose their faith. Our guest says that we can question our faith without losing it.
A. J. Swoboda (PhD, University of Birmingham) is assistant professor of Bible, theology, and world Christianity at Bushnell University. He also leads a Doctor of Ministry program in Holy Spirit Leadership & Ministry Practice at Fuller Theological Seminary. He is the author of a number of books, including the Christianity Today 2019 Book Award Winner (Spiritual Formation) Subversive Sabbath (Brazos Press, 2018).
His latest book is titled After Doubt: How to Question Your Faith without Losing It (Brazos Press, 2021). This book is a much-needed assist to doubters and those of us who are seeking to help them.
