Hi, everyone!
Thanks for subscribing to my new Substack!
It has been a wonderful transition from Patheos to Substack. A lot of you are reading and interacting with my posts. I hope it has been a blessing to you. It certainly has been a blessing to me.
In this personal note:
Update on my ministries with Reintegrate and CCO.
What my Substack seeks to offer - Short articles, podcasts, pop culture reviews, and more.
How to support my ministry through Substack and/or through charitable giving.
Update on my ministries with Reintegrate and CCO.
The end of 2023 and the beginning of 2024 were challenging as I struggled to survive Covid. I was in and out of the Cleveland Clinic for three months (September through November), including several days in ICU because I could barely breathe. It has taken several months to recover.
But I’ve been bouncing back and I’m now on campus reaching out to college students and discipling a great bunch of young men and women. I lead a weekly Bible study on the Sermon on the Mount and I help the student leaders as they conduct our weekly fellowship meeting. I also meet one-on-one with students, mentoring them in connecting their personal lives with the story of what God is doing in the world.
Also, David Loughney and I have got the Reintegrate Podcast back up and running. I hope you’ve subscribed and have listened to our amazing guests. Our 2024 guests so far have been…
Top biblical scholar Christopher J.H. Wright on how the great story of God’s mission connects with the Great Commission.
Film critic Josh Larsen on enjoying movies at a deeper level.
Author Alan Noble on dealing with our mental and emotional suffering.
Old Testament scholar Carmen Imes on being the Image of God.
Historian Daniel Hummell on the history of Dispensationalism (rapture theology).
And coming up in the next couple of months…
Author and Speaker Joanna Meyer on women, work, and calling.
Biblical scholar Gary Burge on Christians and the crisis in Israel and Palestine.
New Testament scholar Scot McKnight on reading the Book of Revelation.
New Testament scholar Lynn Cohick on reading the Letter to the Ephesians.
Author and Speaker John Inazu on learning to disagree in an increasingly polarized culture.
I have also been working with CityGate (a national community of leaders seeking to transform and heal their cities). I’ve been leading monthly Zoom meetings of Faith-and-Work ministry leaders from around the country on how to better know and serve our constituencies.
I’ve also been talking with the leadership of The Good Place Institute. As they seek to help corporate leaders create institutions that bless people and communities, they have been excited about what I might contribute with my expertise in vocational theology.
What my Substack seeks to offer.
My Substack is comprised of several things:
Free articles on varying aspects of reintegrating the Christian faith with all of life. There are several categories (you’ll notice them listed across the top of the Substack webpage):
Special paid-subscriber extras, starting next month:
Podcast extras. David and I will provide some extra interview audio for subscribers. Our guests have a lot to say, and we can’t include it all in our regular podcast.
Pop culture reviews of theater movies and streaming movies and series. I will provide my Christian perspective on what we, and our friends, coworkers, family members, and neighbors are watching. Let’s seek what God is saying in and through pop culture.
How to support my ministry.
There are two ways to support my ministry. One is through your charitable gifts to Reintegrate and the other is to pledge your subscription to this Substack.
You can give a tax-deductible gift to Reintegrate, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, by following this link:
You can sign up for the paid subscription to Bob Robinson’s Substack (see the button below). This is an opportunity to both support my work in ministry and also to become a part of a community that discovers how to reintegrate the Christian faith with all of life. There will be exclusive subscriber-only posts, with extra podcast audio from our excellent guests, and pop culture reviews of films and streaming shows.
Or you can do both!
Thanks for taking the time to read this newsletter! I appreciate all of you and am greatly honored that you want to read what’s happening with my ministries.
I would absolutely love to hear from you!
